Najiba Kabuli was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, in 1981. She grew up in a country that was ravaged by war and conflict. Her father was a doctor who worked tirelessly to help the sick and wounded. Her mother was a teacher who dedicated her life to educating her children. Najiba's family was close-knit and loving, but they lived in constant fear of violence and death.

When Najiba was ten years old, the Taliban took control of Afghanistan. The Taliban imposed a strict interpretation of Islamic law, which severely restricted the rights of women and girls. Najiba was forced to stop going to school and was forbidden from leaving her home without a male escort. She lived in fear of being beaten or even killed by the Taliban.

In 2001, the United States invaded Afghanistan and overthrew the Taliban. Najiba and her family were overjoyed. They hoped that the war was finally over and that they could finally live in peace. But the war was not over. The Taliban continued to fight against the US-backed Afghan government, and the country remained unstable.

In 2007, Najiba's father was killed by a Taliban suicide bomber. Najiba was devastated by her father's death, but she was determined to continue his work. She enrolled in medical school and became a doctor. She also founded a non-profit organization that provides medical care to women and children in Afghanistan.

In 2015, Najiba published her memoir, In Search of My Afghanistan. The book tells the story of her life growing up in a war-torn country. It is a powerful and moving account of resilience, hope, and the power of the human spirit.
