Early Life

CM Punk was born Phillip Jack Brooks on October 26, 1978, in Chicago, Illinois. He began wrestling in high school and later attended Northern Illinois University on a wrestling scholarship. In 2002, Punk signed a developmental contract with WWE and was assigned to the company's developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW).
