Jesus Taught In Parables is a wonderful way to introduce children to the teachings of Jesus. These stories will help children learn about God's love, forgiveness, and grace, and they will encourage them to follow Jesus' example.
The Parable of the Sower
In the Parable of the Sower, Jesus tells the story of a farmer who goes out to sow his seed. Some of the seed falls on the path, and the birds come and eat it up. Some of the seed falls on rocky ground, and it doesn't have enough soil to grow. Some of the seed falls among thorns, and the thorns choke it out. But some of the seed falls on good soil, and it grows up and produces a good crop.
Jesus explains that the seed represents God's word. The different types of soil represent different types of hearts. The seed that falls on the path represents God's word that is heard but not understood. The seed that falls on rocky ground represents God's word that is received with joy but doesn't take root. The seed that falls among thorns represents God's word that is choked out by the cares of this world. But the seed that falls on good soil represents God's word that is received with faith and obedience, and it produces a good crop.
The Parable of the Lost Sheep
In the Parable of the Lost Sheep, Jesus tells the story of a shepherd who has 100 sheep. One day, one of the sheep gets lost. The shepherd leaves the 99 other sheep and goes out to look for the lost sheep. He finally finds the lost sheep and brings it back to the fold.
Jesus explains that the shepherd represents God. The 100 sheep represent all of God's people. The lost sheep represents those who have gone astray from God. Jesus came to seek and save the lost sheep. He died on the cross to pay for our sins, and he rose from the dead to give us eternal life.
The Parable of the Prodigal Son
In the Parable of the Prodigal Son, Jesus tells the story of a father who has two sons. The younger son asks his father for his inheritance, and then he leaves home and squanders his money on wild living. After a while, the younger son runs out of money and becomes very hungry. He gets a job feeding pigs, and he is so hungry that he even eats the pigs' food.
Finally, the younger son comes to his senses and decides to go home to his father. He knows that he has sinned against his father, and he is afraid that his father will not forgive him. But when the younger son gets home, his father runs to meet him and embraces him. The father forgives his son and welcomes him home.
Jesus explains that the father represents God. The younger son represents those who have gone astray from God. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. He died on the cross to pay for our sins, and he rose from the dead to give us eternal life. When we repent of our sins and turn to God, he will forgive us and welcome us home.
Jesus Taught In Parables is a wonderful book for children of all ages. These stories will help children learn about God's love, forgiveness, and grace, and they will encourage them to follow Jesus' example.
