Biography

Nate Archibald was born on September 2, 1948, in the Bronx, New York. He was a natural athlete from a young age, and he excelled in basketball. Archibald attended DeWitt Clinton High School, where he led the basketball team to two city championships. He also earned All-American honors.

After high school, Archibald played college basketball at the University of Texas at El Paso. He was a three-time All-American and led the Miners to the NCAA championship game in 1966.

Archibald was drafted by the Cincinnati Royals in the first round of the 1970 NBA draft. He played for the Royals for two seasons before being traded to the Kansas City-Omaha Kings. Archibald spent four seasons with the Kings, and he helped them reach the playoffs each year.

In 1976, Archibald was traded to the New York Nets. He played for the Nets for three seasons, and he helped them reach the NBA Finals in 1977. Archibald was named an All-Star three times while playing for the Nets.

In 1979, Archibald was traded to the Boston Celtics. He played for the Celtics for two seasons, and he helped them win the NBA championship in 1981. Archibald retired from the NBA in 1983.

After retiring from the NBA, Archibald worked as a coach and broadcaster. He was the head coach of the Kansas City Kings from 1988 to 1990. He also worked as an assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets and the Washington Wizards.

Archibald has also written several books, including "Nate Archibald: My Life in Basketball" and "The Nate Archibald Coaching Guide."

Archibald is a devout Christian. He is involved in several charitable organizations, including the Nate Archibald Foundation. The foundation provides financial assistance to underprivileged children.
